NAGA Guqin Classes

Introduction to the Guqin (group lessons)

Time: Group 1: Wednesday nights 7:00pm to 10:00pm or Group 2: Saturday afternoons 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Special guqin yaji : Played Tang Dynasty qin more than a thousand years old and drank pu'er tea more than a hundred years old.

He Zuoru, the owner of the famous Tang Dynasty qin from the Imperial Palace sold last year invited Professor Li Xiangting, Wang Fei, Teo Kheng Chong, Wang Feng, Wang Peng and other qin players to play his 1200 year old “best living antique qin ” (Why does Professor Li consider it the best living antique qin ? The guqin is to be the subject of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) "asterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" for 2003. The Story of the Chinese Bronte Sisters

"The Story of the Chinese Bronte Sisters" was published by the China City Publishing House on January 8th, 2002. This lavishly produced book was written by Lou Zhijun, mother of the Wang sisters Charlotte (Wei), Emily (Fei) and Annie (Rui). Its160000 Chinese characters tell the story of the Wang's sisters' life from babyhood to the present day. It includes 50 photographs, stories, articles, drawings and paintings as well as a CD of their music.

The first edition was sold 30,000 copies during the first month. It was the fourth of the top ten best selling books in Beijing. The second deition will release in March,2002.

Guqin is the oldest Chinese stringed instrument with 3,000 years history. Wang Fei, the director of North American Guqin Association, will give a guqin presentation in UC Berkeley on Nov. 20th.
